Advantages: Adheres to North American logistics standards; this specification is the default for LTL less-than-truckload, 53-foot trucks, Amazon FBA, and supermarket delivery, ensuring broad compatibility; the longitudinal beam structure offers excellent rigidity and strong bending resistance; wooden models are low-cost, easy to repair, and can clear customs worldwide after heat treatment.
Weaknesses: Traditional wooden stringer pallets, unless specially treated, allow for two-way fork entry (while modern GMA pallets are generally optimized for four-way entry); wood is susceptible to moisture and insect infestation and tends to degrade over time when used outdoors; single-use applications result in waste disposal costs.
